Se busca artista español para el “Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival” de USA

A traves de nuestra amiga Concha Worth, les informamos que la localidad de Pensacola en Florida (Estados Unidos) se está preparando para celebrar el 450 aniversario de su fundación por Don Tristán de Luna en 1559. El presidente del Comité Internacional de Artistas con el “Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival”, está buscando un artista español de las artes visuales, para presentarlo en la edición del festival del 2008. Al comité le gustaría recibir biografías y fotos de las obras de los artistas via email para el proceso seleccionador y lo antes posible.
El “Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival” (http://www.ggaf.org) es un festival de arte entre los mas prestigiosos y populares de Estados Unidos. Miles de visitantes disfrutan este festival-concurso de tres días, que llega a la plaza histórica de Sevilla en Pensacola, el primer fin de semana de Noviembre – este año será el 7, 8 y 9 de Noviembre del 2008. A parte de un artista internacional invitado, atrae más de 200 de los mejores pintores, ceramistas, escultores, joyeros, artistas gráficos, artesanos, artistas de técnicas mezcladas, y otros que tienen el don de transformar inspiración en arte. Músicos en vivo animarán desde el escenario con sonidos que van desde el “bluegrass”, “cajun”, “blues” a la guitarra instrumental y clásica.
El “Parish Performing Arts Stage” mostrará escuelas de danza, compañías de danza, grupos de comunidades y grupos folklóricos del área. Otros aspectos del festival incluyen Artes Autenticas Populares, una exhibición artística de estudiantes, y el área de los niños que incluye oportunidades de muchas manualidades para desarrollar los talentos de los niños de forma gratuita.
Les gustaría invitar a un Artista Internacional para que llegue a Pensacola el domingo 2 de Noviembre y regrese el martes 11 de Noviembre. Esto permitirá que el artista tenga tiempo de visitar una escuela y dar una clase en la comunidad y para asistir a dos fiestas. Tenemos un presupuesto que cubrirá el vuelo, comidas, alojamiento etc. El festival se celebra al aire libre. Una tienda de 10 pies por 10 pies (3 m. x 3 m. aproximadamente) le será proveída al artista para mostrar y vender su arte. El artista debe de atender todo el festival y mostrar las técnicas de su arte.
Esta es una oportunidad maravillosa para un artista de visitar Pensacola y sus preciosas playas en el Golfo de México, y representar su país y costumbres a la vez que vende su obra, y el estar expuesto a miles de personas de todas las partes de Estados Unidos.

Pensacola , Florida is preparing to celebrate the 450th anniversary of its founding by Don Tristan de Luna in 1559. As the chairman of the International Artist Committee with the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival, I have been asked to feature a Spanish visual artist at our 2008 festival. The committee would like to receive biographies and pictures of artists’ work via email for the selection process. We would like to identify an artist as soon as possible.
The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival (www.ggaf.org) is one of the most highly regarded and popular arts festivals in the United States . Thousands of visitors enjoy this three-day, juried art show, which comes to Pensacola ’s historic Seville Square the first full weekend in November – this year it will be November 7, 8 and 9, 2008. In addition to the one Invited International Artist, it draws more than 200 of the nation’s best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen, mixed-media artists and others who have been gifted with the ability to turn inspiration into art. Live musicians will hit the right notes from the Main Stage with sounds ranging from bluegrass, Cajun and blues to instrumental guitar and classical. The Parrish Performing Arts Stage will showcase dance schools, performing companies, community groups and area folk groups. Other aspects of the festival include authentic Heritage Arts, a student art show and a children’s area that features numerous hands-on artistic opportunities to indulge kids’ inner artists at no cost.
We would like for the Invited International Artist to arrive in Pensacola on Sunday, November 2 and depart on Tuesday, November 11. This allows time for the artist to visit area schools and to give a workshop in the community and to attend two parties. We have a budget that should cover the airline flight, meals, lodging, etc. Our festival is held outdoors. A 10 x 10 foot tent will be provided for the artist to sell his/her work. The artist must attend the entire festival and demonstrate the techniques of his/her work.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an artist to visit Pensacola with its beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and highlight his/her country and customs while selling art work and being exposed to thousands of people from throughout the United States.
